Set up in April 2006 by Céline Ramus, Grenoble-based events agency Diverty’Sports has just taken a new step in its professional development by obtaining a travel agency licence last February. “It’s a definite bonus for us because the licence enables us to operate as a proper partner to our clients,” explains Stéphane Faveyrial, head of future projects in the corporate division.
“We can also attract national and international business to the region, in the role of incoming agency alongside Grenoble’s Bureau des Congrès de Grenoble, Rhône-Alpes Tourisme and Atout France. And the flip side is that we can also organise travel for Rhône-Alpes companies to destinations outside of the region…”
Specialising in organising events with a sporting, recreational, cultural or tourism theme, Diverty Sports operates largely within the convention, team building and incentive sectors of the market. Part of its promotional activity has been the launch of a new brochure at the recent “Rencontres Pro de l’Evénement en Rhône-Alpes” show which was held at the beginning of June in Lyon. The agency is also planning an open day on 12 October, from 5.30 pm, at the Domaine Saint-Jean de Chépy in the Isère when a number of local companies will be invited.
The agency offers new “scripted” products including treasure hunts, test driving wacky recreational vehicles, wine and food tastings, woodland activities, astronomy involving the making of mini-rockets, quizz evenings during meal times, mini-raids, introductory lessons in dog sledding, etc… Most of the activities are organised in and around Autrans, Chamrousse, Saint-Jean de Chépy, La Féclaz and the Lac des Sapins.
“During the latest business year, which goes from June to June, we organised about 40 operations equally divided between corporate clients and work councils,” says Stéphane Faveyrial. “The groups ranged from ten to 170 participants. Most of them lasted a day plus an evening or two days. Usually our day-long events start with a meeting in the morning followed by lunch and an afternoon activity, which costs around 120 € per person. Two days at Aiguebelette, with a day’s work and one activity such as a mini-raid, plus accommodation, meals and room hire, work out at 250 € per person”.
Diverty’Sport is certainly ambitious, having also decided to move to new premises with 250 m2 of office space rather than the current 70 m2 . “We’ll have enough room to store all our equipment, notably the Airboards (inflatable sledges), kickbikes (trottinettes), components for building rafts, tents and sound equipment,” concludes Stéphane Faveyrial.
