Situated in Sevrier, on the shores of Lac d’Annecy, this holiday apartment building is one of the most successful business tourism establishments in the Annecy area. It offers 150 rooms and 13 meeting rooms and is increasingly popular with companies and organisations who are looking for longer period seminars at attractive rates.
Located at Sevrier, on the southern shores of Lac d’Annecy, the holiday residence Les Balcons du Lac d’Annecy enjoys a good reputation and is a popular venue with companies and organisations for their seminars and business meetings. The residence boasts all the necessary facilities required for conferences or top level meetings, including 150 rooms, two restaurants with 280 covers and 13 meeting rooms, two of which can seat 70-80 people and one with space for 200.
“Our facilities and our organisation skills have meant that we’ve built up a loyal client base which includes the Université de Grenoble, LCL, Crédit Mutuel, the Trésorerie Générale, CNRS and La Poste,” notes Laurence Flautat, group and seminar sales manager. “Just recently we also organised a big meeting for Quechua involving 200 delegates, as well as for CNES (Centre National d’Etudes Spatiales) and ATSCAF (Association Touristique, Sportive et Culturelle des Associations Financières) again involving 200 people. And in June, we’re hosting a seminar for the Syndicat des Cadres de l’Environnement et de l’Agriculture”.
Such seminars tend to last for between three and five days and Les Balcons du Lac d’Annecy has an agreement with Takamaka for any recreational activities required as part of the seminar programme. The agency offers a wide choice of sporting activities suitable for group participation. This year the residence is promoting an eco-friendly concept called “Chouette Nature”.
Laurence Flautat explains: “Basically it’s a quality mark that has been set up by the Fédération Cap France, which represents about 100 holiday villages in France. Approximately twenty of the villages work specifically on the seminar market and within the framework of “Chouette Nature”, we invite local producers along to promote their products, we serve organic wine, we operate a recycling programme as well as a carbon offsetting scheme that involves tree planting in Burkina Faso”.
New for 2010, the residence has changed its annual closure dates, now opening from 1st December which makes it one of the few venues of this type in the Annecy area to be open for the winter period.
With regard to rates, the residential package of two days and one night costs from 79 € per person, based on double occupancy and 99 € for single occupancy. A day-long work session works out at 27 € per participant for groups (minimum ten people). Worth noting are the special offers for groups of ten or more – aperitif and fondue evening for residential seminar groups or welcome coffee for a day’s seminar, both offered free of charge – during specific periods: 25-28 April; 3-12 May, and 24-26 May.
