Offering 132 apartments and a meeting room for 40 people, the Lagrange residence at Brides-les-Bains is targeting the incentive and team-building markets. In order to appeal to clients, the residence is making the most of its proximity to the 3 Valleys ski area – it is just a 20-minute cable car ride away from Méribel and the wide range of sporting activities available in the Alps. In 2011 Lagrange will add another business tourism residence to its portfolio, this time in Lyon.
Lagrange is France’s second biggest holiday rental company, boasting 178 residences and 76,000 beds, and is also one of the main winter tourism providers with 23 sites in the Alps. The residence at Brides-les-Bains is the only one of them to be part of Lagrange’s new business tourism department, created in 2009.
The 3-star residence is located on the edge of the resort, just five minutes away from the Grand Spa des Alpes and the casino. “It offers 132 apartments and a meeting room for about 40 people,” confirms Valérie Duhamel, manager of the business tourism department. “Because the property is located close to the ski slopes of the 3 Valleys, just a 20-minute cable car ride away from Brides, we’re targeting mainly the incentive and team-building markets rather than purely conference or seminar business”.
In order to best serve its clients, Lagrange has established a partnership with the Évolution 2 agency which offers a wide range of winter and summer activities. In the winter months this can include snow mountain biking or electric Segway treks as well as igloo building, skiing and snow-shoe outings to see the local wildlife. In the summer, the agency mostly offers white water sports, in particular rafting and hydrospeeding on the river Isère…
Keen to build on the success of its first foray into the business tourism sector, Lagrange is looking at new projects including the opening of another Alpine site in the next three or four years. Lagrange is also making further inroads into the city business tourism sector with the planned opening in 2011 of a Lagrange City property in Lyon. It will be a 4-star residence located at Cour Albert Thomas and will be the fourth such property after Boulogne-Billancourt, Strasbourg and Montpellier.
“Our Lyon residence will have 130 suites, with either one or two rooms,” explains Valérie Duhamel. “It will also boast a roof-top spa centre, a restaurant plus 250-300 m2 of meeting space, which will mean capacity for groups of between 130 to 150 people, all underlining Lagrange’s commitment to becoming a major player on the business tourism market”.
In Brides, the daily seminar package rate works out at 177 € for full board including accommodation (single occupancy), room hire and two refreshment breaks. The rate for half board is 148 €.
