The Rhône-Alpes is well-equipped to become one of the best golf destinations and at the same time is well placed to offer another speciality : that of company seminars organised by golf courses offering the added advantage of a prestigious hotel or purpose-built centre.
We’ve chosen just three which achieve a large proportion of their business tourism via packages combining working meetings with the pleasure of a few rounds of golf in an amazing setting : the Domaine de Divonne, close to Geneva ; the Évian Royal Resort which is focusing on its Evian Masters Training Camp this summer, an ideal facility targeted at meeting organisers ; and the Gouverneur on the edge of Lyon, which markets its two 18-hole courses and its single 9-hole course to attract corporate business.
Increasing numbers of companies are choosing to bring their management together on the green, as Christophe Cantegrel, director of the Golf-First agency, said in an interview with the magazine Meet-In : a round of golf usually last about 4 hours , and the time spent actually hitting the ball lasts hardly more than 4 minutes . Which means that there are 3 hours 56 minutes left to discuss business with colleagues or to negotiate a contract !
