Tignes Val Claret

Are you on the lookout for a lovely place in the mountains where you can hold your meeting this winter? If you are, then this is the ideal place for you. The Hôtel Écrin du Val Claret, located in Tignes, one of the two resorts in the Espace Killy ski area, has been working on the business market since it opened in 2003.

The 3* hotel is owned by CGH Résidences, which is part of the MGM property group, and is the ideal base for tailor-made seminars in this famous winter sports resort. It has 55 rooms, a 100-cover restaurant under the direction of Jean-Michel Bouvier, the former Michelin-starred chef from L’Essentiel in Chambéry, a meeting room that seats 95 theatre-style or 50 U-shape style, a lounge bar with open fire which can also be used as a break-out room, a heated swimming pool, a spa centre and a fitness room.

Most of the seminars held here, take place in December, January, March and April, explains Peter Borggaard, the hotel’s general manager. In total we host about 40 events every season, mostly for companies from the Rhône-Alpes or from Paris. Those groups that choose our property are looking to amalgamate some business with a bit of pleasure and they’re aware of the resort’s sporting reputation. We’re also contacted by growing numbers of British and Belgian companies .

The sessions tend to last on average three days and two nights, with groups of between 10 and 100 participants. For larger groups, Peter Borggaard can rely on alternative accommodation belonging to CGH Résidences in Tignes: the 4* hotel Les Suites du Nevada (25 suites of between 52 and 180 m2 plus a 100-cover restaurant) and three 4* hotel residences, including the Télémark which has just opened.

In addition, the lobby at the Suites du Nevada (200 m2) can also be used for fashion shows or product launches whilst for meetings involving groups of more than 100, the rooms owned by Tignes Développement are also available. During low season, between 2 January and 6 February, a day’s seminar with overnight accommodation, including full board, two refreshment breaks, and room hire costs 151 € per person for double occupancy and 185 € single occupancy. For part-residential seminars, excluding lunch, rates go from 126 € for double occupancy and 160 € for single. Between 10 and 24 April, the property offers fully inclusive rates of 147 and 172 € for a residential meeting and between 122 and 147 € for semi-residential.

Peter Borggaard uses the services of Évolution 2 for all the recreational and sporting activities, as they offer an excellent range of options – notably torchlit descents, ski joà«ring, ice diving, dog sledding, paragliding, yurt evenings and, of course, skiing…
