Located a mere ten minutes away from Valence and 15 minutes from Romans, the Palais des Congrès Sud Rhône-Alpes is the name given to the business tourism part of Les Folies du Lac music-hall venue. The venue offers capacity for up to 900 conference delegates and the only accommodation option close by, also set on the shores of Lac d’Aiguille in Châteauneuf-sur-Isère, is the Domaine du Lac tourism residence, formerly known as Les Rêveries du Lac before its take-over at the start of the year by the Rêvalis Ever group which owns a dozen or so similar residences throughout France.

The seminar market is an important one for us and we’re aiming to host five events a month, from half-day workshops to residential meetings like the one we’ve just organised in June that involved five nights’ accommodation or the meeting for 180 representatives from the Louis Vuitton works council planned for September and brought to us by the Destination Provence agency, confirms Vincent Teissier, Rêvalis Ever sales manager for the South East. The Domaine du Lac is definitely a great property, offering 90 accommodation units including 12 studio apartments for one or two people, 60 two-room apartments with capacity for between one and four guests and 18 three-room apartments for between one and six guests. That means that we can offer a maximum capacity of 300 beds throughout the property, housed in small Provencal-style bungalows consisting of between five and seven apartments .

In addition to the accommodation there is also an 80-cover restaurant, two meeting rooms for 20 and 50 delegates, a 270 m² heated outdoor pool, a sauna, jacuzzi, steam room and five beauty treatment rooms. The Domaine du Lac also boasts five hectares of grounds where any number of different activities can be organised. Such facilities make it one of the best business tourism venues available in the northern Drôme area and its closeness to the Folies du Lac facilities means that it can also target large seminars for several hundreds of delegates.

The Domaine du Lac works alongside the Chambéry-based company EPS Organisation to provide a programme of complementary activities in addition to the work sessions, including incentive challenges such as olympiades, orienteering and archery in the grounds. In the neighbouring area it is also possible to organise mountain biking and horse riding (6 km away), tree top trails, go-karting (5 km away) or canyoning 20 km away at the foot of the Vercors. For those delegates with less sporty tastes, there are the local Côtes-du-Rhône vineyards to be explored in the company of Fabien Louis, wine expert and sommelier from Tournon.

At the Domaine du Lac, a study day including room hire, welcome coffee, two refreshment breaks and lunch including drinks works out at 45 €; a semi-residential meeting with the addition of overnight accommodation and breakfast costs 110 € in single rooms or 90 € for two people per apartment, and the fully residential option (including dinner) works out at 135 € per person in one apartment or 115 € each for two per apartment.
