The Domaine du Columbier is a member of the Châteaux et Hôtels de Collection network and is located in Malataverne, just 3 km from the Montélimar Sud exit on the A7 and 160 km from Lyon. The hotel’s seminar business comes largely from Lyon-based companies in the pharmaceutical and energy sectors who are attracted by the Domaine du Colombier’s good facilities, including 80 bedrooms (3* rating), a gastronomic restaurant with 100 covers (under the direction of chefs Julien Gleize and Cyril Fressac, who both worked with the Pourcel brothers in Montpellier) and two meeting rooms. “The largest can take up to 100 people, whilst the smaller one is more suited as a break-out room with 12 seats,” explains sales and marketing manager, Emmanuel Ferraud. “We’re a little outside of the village. When the weather is fine, our guests can enjoy the lovely outdoor pool and the hotel is surrounded by four hectares of grounds and woodland, where some of the trees are centuries’ old. It really is the perfect venue for a serious work session combined with a whole range of sporting and recreational activities, including archery, organised sports challenges, treasure hunts, golf at the Valdaine course, quad biking expeditions, go-karting in Montélimar, flight simulator, hot-air balloon flights, cookery courses, wine courses, visits to vineyards and cabaret evenings”.
The Colombier handles two seminars every week for on average 20 to 30 people. Most of the companies stay for two days, using their stay as an opportunity to explore the area: Grignan, the Ardèche gorges, MontĂ©limar and its nougat producers, etc…
Le Domaine du Colombier is part of the Drôme-based association, Séminaires de Caractère, which is a collection of about 20 independent hotels and restaurants. The association looks after the marketing of all its members and is planning to participate at the 2012 edition of the Séminaires Business tradeshow in Lyon.
